| Correct Antifouling Application |
OceanMaster antifoulings contains toxins which are effective against the wide variety of fouling organism which are present in every ocean, harbour, tidal stream, river and lake. By applying the antifouling too thinly, you simply "water down" its potency. Full protection is gained only when the product is applied correctly, with proper coverage over a clean, well prepared surface. When thinned for spraying, the application must still be based on the correct spread rate of the unthinned product. Any savings you think you may have achieved by skimping on preparation time or coating thickness are obviously false economy as you will need to slip and repaint much sooner. To gain the longest possible protection, it also pays to pre-coat areas where water pressure and turbulence are greatest. This includes the leading edges of keels, skegs, rudders and propeller struts. Pre-coat these areas and also give them extra coats with any leftover antifouling when the rest of the hull has been completed. |
